Data Synchronization with local PC/Notebook/Mac

In order to keep media contents (books, photos, music, videos) on the iPhone synchronously with a local computer, Apple's desktop software iTunes is required.

For business reasons, European business people must avoid Apple's iCloud.
Instead, iTunes is used with USB cable (but without backup in the iCloud).

Security-conscious private users should do the same.
After the USB connection is established with a Windows computer, the user is prompted by Windows as to whether the images and videos found on the iPhone should be displayed in the Explorer window or copied to the hard drive (see the screenshot above). This is without iTunes the only way to get at least pictures and videos from the iPhone to the Windows computer. For the iCloud, Apple uses mostly foreign data centers!
